ARTIST’S BIO //
Weird, queer, brown, gallivanting witch who organizes mainly around decolonial feminism and radical care. Sometimes puts their/her feelings in music or text. Part of musical projects ‘Binbandits’ and ‘Sage Against the Machine.’
At a time when so many personal works-of-art are seemingly swallowed up by the flood of posts through social media and obscured or forgotten through the passage of time, through our publication we hope to provide a means to remember, and recall what’s truly important.
I saw Sage’s post through Instagram and was instantly drawn into the personal nature of the writing. I reached out to them, asking if they would be willing to share it in print through the magazine (find it on page 18 of Issue #01).
The words feel succinct, and powerful, and hold such a strong message but conjure different images with each reading.
I am a firm believer that we all could use a few more channels to expose us to each other’s inner lives and perspectives.
Reading about others’ struggles in life and endurance, on a regular basis, opens us all up to new ways of thinking and understanding.
As a non-BIPOC, I definitely needed to read this. And need to continue to read more works like this.
So many of us do.
