“Five Petals of Venus”

The debut EP Five Petals of Venus by Kairras has been making its rounds in conversations recently. This 5 song album dives into the realm of Afro Electro Funk. If you’re unfamiliar, a prime example would be: Sassy Black or THEESATISFACTION or Guayaba (now going by Ex-Florist). While writing this I’m realizing that this genre is spearheaded by black femmes; suuper cool. 

Very epic at times, with space given to shoot for the stars in those bravados. It’s certainly groovy, and distinct from lots of other music. I can name like 10 Artists nationally with a similar goth-y psychedelic  funk vibe, and 3 live in Seattle.  We must know something they don’t know oop.

Definitely check out Kairras so you can keep an eye on this exciting emerging genre.
